The predecessor of Southeast University Suzhou Campus is Southeast University Suzhou Research Institute established in October 2005. It integrates high-level innovative talent training, high-level scientific research, high-tech achievements transformation, international cooperation in running schools, and local economic and social development services. It is an important part of the “double first-class construction” of Southeast University. The campus is located in the Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone of Suzhou Industrial Park with beautiful scenery. It covers an area of more than 100 mu of land with construction area of nearly 110,000 square meters.


The campus consists of Southeast University Suzhou Research Institute, Southeast University Software College (Suzhou), Southeast University National University Science Park (Suzhou), Southeast University-Monash University Joint Graduate School (Suzhou), Southeast University Technology Transfer Center (Suzhou), and several scientific and technological innovation platforms. As of the end of December 2021, there were nearly 1,000 full-time postgraduate students on campus, with a total enrollment of more than 6,000 students and of more than 4,000 master graduates. 


In February 2021, an agreement was reached between Southeast University and Suzhou Municipal People's Government to further promote cooperation and development. Following the development principle of “high-end, internationalization, localization, and characterization”, Suzhou Campus will strive for high-quality faculties and innovation teams, international exchange and cooperation pattern that is all-round, point-focused, multi-layer, wide-ranging and high-level, as well as international first-class talent training bases and research platforms.
